The Awty International School is co-educational, college preparatory day school enrolling over 1,200 students in PreK-3 through 12th grade. As the second largest international school in the country, Awty is unique among Houston's private schools. Its multi-national student body, accelerated academic curriculum, and strong language programs provide a multi-cultural experience not available elsewhere.
Seeking to broaden understanding of diverse cultures, The Awty International School offers its students two academic programs: a traditional American college preparatory curriculum leading to the International Baccalaureate and a program, approved by the French Government, leading to the French Baccalaureate. The School is affiliated with the Mission Laïque Française in Paris.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma program is a comprehensive and demanding two-year curriculum in the 11th and 12th grades that leads to the I.B. Diploma and the American High School Diploma. All students in the International Section 11th and 12th grades follow the curriculum of the I.B. proper and prepare for the I.B. Diploma by sitting for the examinations at the end of the 12th grade year.
Schools attended by recent graduates include Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Georgetown, Harvard, McGill, Rice, University of Texas, the Universities of Bonn, Paris (all campuses), the University of Warwick, Vassar, Wellesley College, Williams, and Yale.
