The Monarch School is dedicated to providing an innovative, therapeutic education for children with neurological differences. We serve children from age three through young adulthood who have Autism Spectrum Disorders (Autistic Disorder, Asperger's Disorder, PDD-NOS), Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Tourette's Syndrome, Mood Disorders (Bipolar Disorder, Depression), Anxiety Disorders, and other neurological differences.
But at Monarch, our work has never been about labels. For us, it's about knowing each student as an individual. Monarch students move through our unique level system, focusing on our four core goals and take ownership of their own academic competence, relationship development, self regulation and self awareness, and executive functions.
Educators and mental health professionals at The Monarch School have not only utilized best practices in special education and therapy, but also have pioneered new interventions. Faculty includes specialists in education, psychology, speech and language pathology, music therapy, art therapy and wellness. The school is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).
In addition to our therapeutic day school, Monarch also offers a summer program, diagnostic clinic, life academy, learning center and four supportive living homes.
