Since 1955, Houston families have depended on St. Thomas' Episcopal School to provide their children a classical education in the Christian tradition. Our challenging academic curriculum helps students reach their potential. A daily chapel service and a strong sense of community provide a foundation that fosters success not only in school but in all areas of life.
Our students learn at an accelerated pace. By midyear our kindergartners are taking home daily readers - and, for those not quite ready for kindergarten, we have a bridge program that prepares them to excel. Lower and middle school students follow a carefully designed curriculum that lays the basis for success in high school and beyond. Our upper school students choose from a wide array of Advanced Placement and honors courses; most graduate with college credit, and all graduate well prepared for success at the college level. The 44 students in the Class of 2010 earned over $3.2 million in scholarship offers at prestigious colleges and universities across the country, and our students currently attend a wide array of fine institutions, from Princeton to Pepperdine and from the University of Texas to Texas A&M University.
Small class sizes give our students ample opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities including our internationally renowned Scottish arts program, a ten-time regional champion mock trial team, a nationally recognized yearbook program, and numerous athletic offerings such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, tennis, softball, and golf.
