Second Baptist School, founded in 1946, is an independent college-preparatory school that provides academic, social, physical, and spiritual instruction based on sound educational and biblical principles. Second Baptist School seeks to motivate students to high academic and moral standards in keeping with Christian values.
Enrolling approximately 1000 students, Second Baptist School offers a challenging academic program in a Christian environment for students Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. Second Baptist students have numerous social, athletic, artistic, leadership, and service opportunities through the school's diverse extracurricular program. The faculty partner with families to provide students with a firm foundation in lifelong decision-making.
As a self-supporting agency of the Second Baptist Church of Houston, the school enjoys the use of nearly one million square feet of educational and athletic facilities on a 42-acre, Memorial-area campus and admits students without regard to race, religion, or economic background. Graduates, who have attended over 150 colleges and universities worldwide, comprise a supportive alumni network. Second Baptist School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Accreditation Commission of the Texas Association of Baptist Schools (ACTABS).
