Strake Jesuit is a Catholic, all boys college preparatory that develops Christian leaders in a spiritual, Christ-centered atmosphere distinguished by academic success, extracurricular achievement and service to others. Jesuit's challenging curriculum prepares students for college and for life. Consistently earning some of the highest SAT scores in Texas, the majority of Jesuit graduates pursue college studies through college scholarships.
Athletically, Jesuit is one of only two private high schools in Texas competing in the University Scholastic League with Texas public schools. The majority of students participate in one or more athletic activities including football, basketball, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, track, cross country, tennis, wrestling, water polo, swimming, golf and rugby. Many other extracurricular activities are available including band, orchestra, choir, drama, debate as well as over 50 clubs and organizations, open to all.
Spiritual life is the foundation of a Jesuit education. Based on the inspiration of St. Ignatius, the founder of the Jesuits over 450 years ago, Jesuit attempts to enable each student to realize that he is called to be a Man for Others. The Strake Jesuit graduate is one who is not only intellectually competent but who is also religious, loving, open to growth, and committed to doing justice.
