The Woodlands Christian Academy is an independent, Christcentered, college preparatory school that integrates learning with biblical faith and challenges students to reach their highest potentialspiritually, academically , physically, and socially - for the glory of Jesus Christ.
School History
TWCA is a Pre-K through 12th grade college preparatory day school on 40 wooded acres, 28 miles north of downtown Houston. Founded in 1993, TWCA has an evangelical, interdenominational mission as well as a selective admissions process. TWCA enrolls students who have demonstrated average to highly exceptional intellectual ability and offers appropriately paced instruction to accommodate this range of ability in its college preparatory curriculum. The high school graduated its first class in May 2001.
Curriculum
TWCA maintains a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. 100% of TWCA graduates are able to attend four-year colleges or universities. The curriculum in the high school includes regular,honors and advanced placement courses. Current AP courses are U.S. History, World History, U.S. Government, Calculus, English Language, English Literature, and Art History. Additionally, math students are able to take advantage of college-level dual credit classes. The Foreign language Department currently consists of Spanish and Latin. All high school students are required to complete 20 hours of community service a year.
