Incarnate Word Academy, a Catholic college preparatory high school for young women, is located in downtown Houston. It was established in 1873 by the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament. The IWA mission is to provide quality education in a Christian environment to an ethnically and economically diverse group of young women.
Our school community represents a mosaic of cultures, races, and religious beliefs, fostering positive, faith-based student-faculty interaction. Our curriculum is devised to challenge and groom intellectual development, to encourage the inclusion of daily faith in one’s life plan, and to facilitate the achievement of a high level of academic excellence in our students. Advanced Placement courses are available to earn college credit, and 100 hours of community service are required for graduation.
100% of our graduates receive college acceptances, many to prestigious universities. We offer a competitive sports program and various educational events, athletic programs, and social activities for our students to meet peers who share their same values and goals. Our tuition and fees are competitive. Supervised, after-school activities and study time available, at no charge!
